Michael Jackson the Humanitarian


Celebrity Power Magazine is dedicated to showcasing the charitable efforts of celebrities. There is no bigger celebrity and no bigger humanitarian than Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson is a true humanitarian, an example to us all. He has devoted much time and money to a wide range of charities. He loves children and takes time out when touring secretly visting sick children. He also has special rooms at his home Neverland for sick and terminally ill children to stay over. He was listed in the 2000 edition of the Guiness Book Of World Records for breaking the world record for the "Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star". It states that Michael Jackson has supported 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations through sponsorships of their projects or by participating in their silent auction. Beyonce & Solange Knowles to Perform Benefit Concert in Minneapolis on July 16


International superstar Beyonce will perform at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN on July 16 to benefit the Charles & Phyllis Newman Foundation and the Knowles Family charitable organization, The Survivor Foundation. One of the most widely recognized and highly respected women in pop music and a strong supporter of philanthropic efforts, Beyonce's latest album I Am . . . Sasha Fierce has spawned the worldwide hit "If I were a Boy," and the U.S. number one single "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)". Fellow soul songstress, and sister, Solange will join Beyonce as a special guest.


The concert will be for one night only and fans will enjoy live performances of chart-topping music from Beyonce and Solange. Hollywood Celebrity Icons Partner with The ASHÉ Foundation


Today, Hollywood icons and athletes, Tom Arnold, Kenny Lattimore, Brandon Fobbs, Howard Hewett, Essence Atkins, Claudia Wells, Jonathan Bennett, Teddy Riley, Niecy Nash, Antonio Cromartie, Harry Smith, Ananda Lewis, Saxophonist Mark Allen Fenton will perform, and many more will be on tap to join The ASHÉ Foundation as they wash the feet and place clean white socks and adequate shoes on the displaced and disadvantage men in the courtyard of The Midnight Mission located at 601 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Clergy leaders, Pastor Barry Lyons of Living Waters of the San Fernando Valley, Pastor Charles Humphrey of Hope's House Ministries and Rev. John W. Miller of Community Lutheran Church of Los Angeles along with several members of their church, will also be on site to lend a hand to this day of loving and serving the displaced.

Whoopi Goldberg will serve as emcee for the event, which also marks Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday. The concert originally announced for Madison Square Garden will now be held at historic Radio City Music Hall.

The additional performers will join Aretha Franklin, Wyclef Jean, Queen Latifah, Dave Stewart, Josh Groban and Jesse McCartney, along with Angelique Kidjo, Baaba Maal, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Chris Chameleon, Freshlyground, Emmanuel Jal, Loyiso, Sipho Mabuse, Vusi Mahlasela, Thandiswa Mazwai, Suzanna Owiyo and many more.
