ATLANTA- September 5, 2008 – Last night the 2008 Black Weblog Award Winners were announced. The final round of competition lasted from August 17th through August 31st, drawing over 1,500 votes.

Big winners included:
• Young Black & Fabulous- Blog of the Year (Popular Vote), Best Blog Design (Popular Vote), Best Gossip Blog (Popular Vote)
• Jack & Jill Politics- Best Group Blog (Judges' Vote), Blog of the Year (Judges' Vote)
• Black Snob- Best Blog Post or Blog Post Series (Popular Vote), Best Writing in a Post (Judges' Vote)
• Afrobella- Best Style & Fashion Blog (Popular Vote), Best Culture Blog (Popular Vote), Best Writing (Popular Vote)

The most coveted award, The Aaron Hawkins Award went to Michael David Cobb Bowen of Cobb. Michael David Cobb Bowen, a self-described economic Chicagoan and geopolitical neoconservative, has been blogging since December 1999. His writing has been featured on NPR's "News and Notes," Blogcritics, NPR's "Tell Me More," along with several magazines, websites and radio interviews.
